The aim of the project was information design for advocacy, I chose the Period Poverty as my topic and The Period Purse as my advocate. In order to promote period positivity I decided to keep the visuals playful and use period products as informational devices.
The Bloody truth about Period Poverty
This project advocates against period stigma and period poverty. Before I started designing I conducted a lot of research on the topic and found an interesting study about period stigma in Canada. The PDF is designed to look like a period pad. One of the aims of this project is to normalize periods so using imagery and suggestions of period products was my way to convey that.
The Bloody Truth about period stigma
Through researching period poverty I found a lot of research that linked it to period stigma. I decided to include a second page that focused on period stigma. I followed the same guidelines as the first page to create cohesion between the two.
