Vermicomposting is the process of composting organic matter with worms. It's a great way to divert waste from landfill and produces a nutrient rich by-product that can be a great fertilizer for at home gardens. This pamphlet was created to raise awareness about the benefits of vermicomposting and debunk some of the misconceptions around worms and composting at home. It features a fold out poster with instructions on how to build and maintain your own worm bin.
The pamphlet is targeted towards school-aged children and therefore features playful colors and shapes. The illustration style and playful nature also help take some of the ick-factor out of worms! The last two spreads are both designed to work as posters that can be hung up in a classroom.
Vermicomposting is all about getting your hands dirty and DIY so a kraft paper texture was used to give it a sense of tacticity and a natural element.
