Weft Book 1
In the time frame I had, I created a book with 3 different upcycling craft tutorials that readers can take on in their homes: making T-shirt Yarn, natural dyeing, and crocheting a hat. This book is part of a series that is released monthly on Weft’s website as a pdf that readers can swipe through.
Crafting
During the design process, I spent a lot of time conducting primary research by taking on upcycling projects of my own. This was a very important part of my process because doing this research helped further connect me to my topic, and I knew that crafting was something I wanted to incorporate into the final design piece. My own interests in art and hands-on crafting really drove me to the design solution and was also a great motivator throughout the entire project. One of the upcycling projects I completed was recycling old t-shirts into yarn and then crocheting hats. The end product is a one of a kind colourful piece that is durable and stylish!
