Research
I began the process of this project by forming various research questions and conducting secondary research and then primary research. The synthesis of my findings helped me identify the areas in which accessibility is significant regarding online video sharing.
The Problem
I chose this topic because of the increased popularity of sharing videos on social media and because there was a need for inclusivity for people with visual or auditory impairments. I’ve discovered a lot of valuable information by watching videos, and I think everybody should have the opportunity to participate in video sharing culture.
The Solution
There are three principal accessibility features that social media video editors should include: voiceovers, subtitles, and alt text. These features are applied easily with the appropriate software. Text-to-speech, speech-to-text, and recording software are all in existence — and they should be available in all social media video editors.
