Recognitions
j.doe is a magazine that harbours the words of anonymous strangers through personal texts and vivid imagery. It aims to evoke a subtle sense of intimacy between the reader and the magazine by encompassing fragments of the many different lives around us through curiosities of strangerhood, emotion, and self-reflection.
Images by me, words from you
This project is based on the “stranger on the train” phenomenon, a belief that people are more willing to confess personal details and dilemmas to someone they’ll never interact with again. The goal of this magazine is to create an intimate and personal reading experience through the retellings of complete strangers, encouraging the reader to reflect and connect through anonymity. It covers a wide range of topics from stories of vanity to sentimentality, times of anxiety to feelings of absolute bliss. With crowdsourced content, j.doe tells the stories of those who have a lot to say but nowhere to say it.
